My First Blog Post

So Robert Levy, our former school President, has been encouraging me to start a blog for 3 years but I have consistently resisted.

I had a meeting a few month ago with a parent that has changed my thinking (sorry Robert that I have been saying no all along...).This parent shared some very valid concerns and suggestions for improving the school and in the course of our conversation I mentioned that we had addressed a number of those issues and I had already sent out a letter about it. He told me that my letters are great but information often gets lost or unread. Parents naturally skim the whole letter and pull out what they think are the most important points (I will share his example in another post) and then move on - filing the letter away never to be seen again.

He suggested that I find a way to give parents blog-type updates that they can look at as they come out, or go back over when they have a chance.
